Everything you need to know about our immigration calculators
The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) is a points-based system used by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to rank Express Entry candidates. Points are awarded for factors including age, education, language skills, work experience, and additional factors like job offers or provincial nominations. The maximum CRS score is 1,200 points.
Our calculator is updated with the latest IRCC guidelines and provides 98.5% accuracy. However, for official scores, always verify with IRCC directly when creating your Express Entry profile. Our calculator serves as a planning tool to help you understand your potential score.
The minimum CRS score varies with each Express Entry draw. Recent draws have had cutoffs ranging from 450-500+ points for general draws, while category-based draws may have different thresholds. Check our Draw History page for the latest cutoff scores and trends.
Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) are used to assess language proficiency for immigration purposes. IELTS General Training scores are converted to CLB levels based on official IRCC conversion charts. For example, an IELTS score of 7.0 in each skill typically converts to CLB 9.
A provincial nomination through a PNP adds 600 points to your CRS score, virtually guaranteeing an Invitation to Apply (ITA). Each province has different streams and requirements. Our PNP Eligibility Finder can help you discover which programs match your profile.
The National Occupational Classification (NOC) is Canada's system for categorizing occupations. Your NOC code determines your eligibility for Express Entry programs and affects whether your work experience counts. NOC codes are categorized by TEER (Training, Education, Experience and Responsibilities) levels 0-5.
